WHAT IS REIKI? Reiki is an original method of healing and self development developed by Mikao Usui in Japan in the 20th century. Eastern medicine has however, always recognised and worked with this energy. * Acupuncture, Tai Chi and Yoga are also based on the free flow of this energy. It is a dynamic complement to any healing pilgrimage, well-being practice and spiritual pursuit. It may be used in confidence alongside orthodox healthcare, but is not however, an alternative to conventional medicine.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS? The experience of Reiki is time and again described as deeply peaceful and blissfully relaxing. It promotes your body’s own ability to heal itself and oftentimes initiates profound insight and clarity of mind. Client’s who regularly receive Reiki express the following benefits:

WHAT HAPPENS DURING A SESSION? During a session Reiki is channelled into your body through the practitioner’s hands, and though it is often described as ‘hands on healing’ actual touch is not necessarily required. You remain fully clothed whilst lying down on a therapy bench or sitting comfortably in a chair. Gentle music and vaporised scents are often used to create a warm and inviting space. Most clients fall asleep and wake feeling lighter, refreshed, balanced and rejuvenated. To experience the full benefits of Reiki regular sessions are recommended.
WHY REIKI? Holistic health is an approach to life and emphasises the connection of mind, body, and spirit. The word holistic comes from the greek word holos, meaning “entire” or “all.” Because Reiki works on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of the body, it is considered a holistic therapy. Mikao described Reiki as “the secret of inviting happiness, the medicine for all dis-ease”. Whilst it is considered spiritual, it is not a religion and there is nothing specific you need to believe in, in order to benefit from it. Because it is natural it is suitable for everyone.
